The Coffee Lady Trojans won their 19th game of the season Thursday afternoon, defeating the Jeff Davis County Yellow Jackets 6-2 in Hazlehurst.
The Lady Trojans scored three in the second and three in the seventh. Jeff Davis, meanwhile, managed just two runs in the third.
Karlee Thomas, RiRi Paulk, and Maggie Brown each had two hits for Coffee. Brown and Jocelyn Fender drove in two while Paulk scored twice. One of Thomas’s hits was a triple.
Brown threw an 89-pitch complete game, allowing two runs (both earned) on five hits. She struck out six and walked just one.
Coffee finishes the regular season Monday in Waycross against rival Ware County. The Lady Trojans are 19-6 on the season and are still awaiting to hear who their first-round playoff opponent will be. Coffee will go into the postseason as the #3 seed.
