Glenda Gail Courson, age 78, of Douglas, GA, passed away peacefully at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, GA on Tuesday, October 7th, 2025. She was born on June 7th, 1947 the daughter of the late Father Elige Jacob (EJ) Kight and the late Clara Mae Beecher Kight.

Her survivors include: her beloved husband, Rodney Courson Sr. of Douglas, GA; two daughters, Selina (Stuart) Hatton of Denton, GA and Sherri (Bill) Skipper of Douglas, GA; two sons, Buddy (Kristy) McLeod of Douglas, GA and Rev. Rodney (Laran) Courson Jr.; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Carolyn Adams of Cleveland, GA along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: father, Elige Jacob Kight; mother, Clara Mae Beecher Kight; two grandchildren, Lisa Marie Stone and William Galen Skipper; and one brother, Sheldon E. Kight.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 9th, 2025, at Bethel Baptist Church in Douglas, GA, at 2:00 PM, with Pastors George Carroll Paulk and Rev. Steven Hart officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will include Caleb Skipper, Caden Skipper, Jacob Courson, Justin Hatton, Brett Hatton, and Logan Knight.

Honorary pallbearers will include all of the grandchildren.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
