Do you care about the environment and want to make a difference in Douglas? If so, we need you!  The Keep Douglas Beautiful Committee is searching for motivated individuals who want to make a difference in the community to serve on the Executive Board.

The City of Douglas is looking for three volunteers for the Keep Douglas Beautiful Board (KDB). KDB, an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, aims to promote environmental sustainability and educate the community to act every day. The mission of the board includes increasing safety, reducing litter in open spaces and waterways, improving recycling efforts, and maintaining the beauty of Douglas. The KDB executive board consists of eight members: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Keep Douglas Beautiful meetings are normally held on the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. at City Hall. Occasionally the volunteers are asked to assist with fundraising, environmental projects, and other events.

For all qualifications of each committee or to obtain a volunteer application, please go to the city website www.cityofdouglasga.gov/volunteer, download a form, or stop by the City Clerk’s Office located at City Hall, 302 S. Madison Avenue, or email Wynetta Bolder at wbolder@cityofdouglasga.gov.  All volunteer applications must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.  For more information, please call Destiny at 912-383-0277.
