RoxAnne Gaither, age 64, of Douglas, GA , passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL. She was born on August 23, 1961, in Douglas, GA to the late Ross Elbert Simmons Jr. and Ruth Simmons.

Her survivors include: two daughters, Katie (Joey) Porter of Douglas, GA and Bobbie (Derek) Tanner of Douglas, GA; mother, Ruth Simmons of Douglas, GA; son, Phillip (Amy) Gross of Douglas, GA; nine grandchildren, McKenzie Hacker, Briley Payton, Will Herring, Braedon Payton, Annalise Martin, Bailey Payton, Kaelyn Tanner, Landon Gross, and Noah Gross; nine great-grandchildren, Legend Figueroa, Daiton Herring, Evelyn Payton, Kalani Goodwin, Jimmy Cade Herring, A’dahlia Herring, Emberly Payton, Carter Roberson, and Sunny Roberson; two sisters, Lynda Tanner and Valarie Simmons; along with several nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by: her beloved husband, Phillip Gaither; father, Ross Elbert Simmons, Jr.; and mother, Ruth Ellen Hoyt Simmons.

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA.

Graveside Services will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Oak Grove Church and Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Tanner officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.simsfuneralhome.org.

Sims Funeral Home, Douglas, GA is in charge of the arrangements.
