South Georgia State College (SGSC) is making it easier than ever for future students to become part of Hawk Nation by waiving its application fee for the entire month of November. The initiative, part of SGSC’s ongoing commitment to accessibility and affordability, encourages students to take the first step toward a high-quality college education without the added financial barrier of an application fee.

“SGSC is proud to serve as your community’s college,” said Dr. Greg Tanner, interim president of South Georgia State College. “We want students to know that college is within reach. By waiving the application fee in November, we’re inviting more students to discover the welcoming environment, strong academic programs, and supportive community that make SGSC special.”

Students can take advantage of the fee waiver by submitting their application online between November 1 and November 30 at https://apply.sgsc.edu/. During this time, the fee will be automatically waived at checkout with no special code required.

SGSC offers more than 20 associate degree pathways and five bachelor’s degrees in high-demand fields, including Biological Sciences, Elementary/Special Education, Management, Mechanical Engineering Technology, and Nursing. With flexible options for both transfer and career-focused students, SGSC provides an affordable and supportive foundation for academic success.

In addition to its degree programs, SGSC continues to expand opportunities for students through new initiatives such as the Rodeo Club and an upcoming Agriculture Pathway.

Students can choose to attend classes at either of SGSC’s campuses in Douglasor Waycross, or through its Entry Program in Valdosta. The Douglas Campus offers on-campus housing and dining, while the Waycross Campus provides a close-knit environment for commuters.

To apply, prospective students should visit https://apply.sgsc.edu/. For questions or assistance, contact the Office of Admissions at 912-260-4200oradmissions@sgsc.edu. Campus tours are also available and can be scheduled by contacting the recruitment team at recruiters@sgsc.edu.

Don’t miss your chance to join a college where you can feel part of a community. Apply in November for free and see why South Georgia State College is the place for you.
