DPD officer spots individual with active warrant standing in a yard, takes him into custody

Richard Justin Moore, 33, of Douglas, was arrested on November 2, 2025, after a Douglas police officer spotted him standing in a yard on South Chester Avenue and recognized him as having active warrants through the police department.

According to a police department incident report, the officer was patrolling in the area when he saw Moore in the yard. He spoke to Moore and went to arrest him. The report says that Moore initially acted as though he might attempt to flee but did not. Moore complied and he was taken into custody. The report adds that Moore did not have anything illegal in his possession.

Moore was transported to the Coffee County Jail and booked on a probation violation warrant. He remains incarcerated.
