Coffee Trojans senior infielder/RHP Ben Fussell will continue his post-high school playing career in Macon. On National Signing Day this week, Fussell signed a letter of intent with the Mercer Bears.

Fussell was an All-Region and All-State selection as a sophomore and junior, and region Co-Player of the Year last season. He led the Trojans with a .450 batting average. He recorded 50 hits — 10 doubles, five triples, four home runs, and 21 RBI. He also threw 38 innings with a 3-5 record and a 4.24 ERA. He struck out 34 and walked 29.

Fussell will join his former Trojan teammate Michael Strickland in Macon. Strickland, last season’s region Co-Pitcher of the Year, is a freshman at Mercer.
