A 33-year-old Douglas woman was arrested and charged with simple assault after she allegedly spit on the complainant and attempted to hit him in a housing dispute, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.
The report states that on November 11, 2025, at around 11:30 a.m., an officer responded to a Highway 221 North address in reference to a trespassing call. The complainant stated that his ex-girlfriend, Crystal Henderson, 33, of Douglas, was living in a camper that he was renting from another person. He added that she was not supposed to be living there.
The report states that the officer told the landlord and the complainant that because the complainant had allowed Henderson to establish residence at the property, they would have to go through the eviction process to have her removed.
The report says that then the landlord showed the officer a video of Henderson lunging at the complainant in an attempt to hit him. Then, the report says, she tried to spit on him. In the report, Henderson said that she had tried to spit on the complainant but her mouth had been too dry.
Based on the video, the officer arrested Henderson and charged her with simple assault. She was booked into the Coffee County Jail then released.
