Robert Arthur “Bob” Mallonee, age 82, of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and formerly of Nicholls, Georgia passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025. He was born January 23, 1943, in Wheeling, West Virginia to Charles Arthur Mallonee and Rose Ellen Ronyake Mallonee.
Bob served Honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1962 through 1966, achieving the rank of Sergeant and receiving the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Rifle Marksmanship Badge. After his military service, he worked for many years as a truck driver and retired in 2015, a career he took great pride in.
He married Ima Ruth Davis on November 12, 1985. They shared thirty-eight years of marriage until her passing on February 17, 2023.
After living in Nicholls for many years, Bob recently moved to Village Cove on Hilton Head Island where he quickly formed meaningful connections with both residents and staff. When you spent time with Bob you never heard a complaint. He met each day with gratitude, humility, and his trademark sense of humor. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed hunting, and spent seasons beekeeping, farming blueberries, and tending pecan trees.
Bob is survived by his sister Barbara Mallonee of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, his son Darryl and his wife Nell Davis of Nicholls, GA his son Robbie Mallonee and partner Alicia of Beaufort, SC and his daughter Sheri and her husband Dan Prudhomme of Hilton Head Island, SC. He is also survived by his grandchildren Sandy Graham of Nicholls, GA, Brian Davis and his wife Damita of Nicholls, GA and Dora Prudhomme of Clemson, SC. His great grandchildren include Haley McClelland and her husband Koby, Hunter Graham and his wife Reanna, and Katie Thomas and her husband Thad. He also leaves behind his two great-great grandsons Kash Graham and Colson McClelland.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ima and his parents.
Funeral Ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 10:00 am at Chapel of Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA with Rev. Joey Copeland officiating. Interment to follow at Roxie Mae cemetery.
