Miss Tonya Lynn Spivey, age 47, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away Sunday night, November 30, 2025 at her residence following a courageous 3 year battle with cancer.
Tonya was born July 30, 1978, to Charlene Amerson Adams and the late Tillman Spivey, Jr. She was preceded in death by the father that raised her, Randy E. Adams. She was a “Mama’s Girl” and the apple of her mama’s eye. Tonya spent many years serving patients of Coffee Regional Medical Center in the Patient Financial Services division. She was a devoted 20-year member of Southview Church of God and her greatest enjoyment came from going to church and spending time with her church family.
Tonya leaves behind her mother Charlene Amerson Adams of Douglas, Georgia; 4 siblings: Charlotte Bird and husband Chuck, Natalie Mathews and husband Keith, Brandy Adams, and Brandon Adams, all of Douglas, Georgia; a niece, Sophie Bird of Douglas, Georgia; a nephew, Eli Bird of Douglas, Georgia; along with a number of extended family members and friends.
Tonya’s family will receive friends Tuesday evening, December 2, 2025, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home, Inc. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon, December 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Southview Church of God with Bishop Byron Griffis and Rev. Buddy Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Tanner Cemetery with Rev. Joey Copeland officiating.
Active pallbearers will include Alan Chancey, Carson Chancey, William Amerson, Lloyd Amerson, Brian Davis, and Chris Cooper.
