A witness to a fight at Georgian Woods Apartments was arrested on several charges after a Douglas police officer discovered he had an active warrant.
According to an incident report from the police department, an officer responded to a fight at Georgian Woods Apartments at around 9 p.m. on November 22, 2025. When the officer arrived, he saw a male walking away from the location of the fight. The report says the officer stopped the male, identified as Diangleo Jones, 24, of Douglas, and asked him what happened. According to the report, Jones stated that had heard a commotion at the complex but he did not pay it any attention.
The officer ran his name through 911 and discovered there was an active warrant on Jones. At that point, Jones started running, according to the report. The officer attempted to tase Jones but the prongs didn’t make a good connection and Jones kept running, the report says. Jones ran to Pilgrims but was unable to get inside the building.
The officer apprehended Jones and checked his pockets, where he discovered a small amount of marijuana. Jones was arrested and charged resisting an officer, possession of marijuana less than one ounce, and a probation violation. He was booked into the Coffee County Jail and later released.
