Douglas police charged a 22-year-old with leaving the scene of an accident after he allegedly struck a vehicle while driving through a parking lot. The vehicle he allegedly hit then struck another vehicle parked nearby. The suspect, identified as Cesar Adolfo Garcia, 22, of Douglas, allegedly left the scene but was ultimately arrested.
A report from the Douglas Police Department states that just before 7 p.m. on November 13, 2025, a police officer responded to Peak Physique in response to a hit and run. One of the victims had video of the incident. The video shows a 2011 Honda CR-Z, allegedly driven by Garcia, entering the parking lot and circling near the front of the gym. The Honda then veered to the left, striking a vehicle. The collision knocked the second vehicle into a third one parked beside it. The Honda backed up and left the parking lot, according to the report. Both vehicles sustained damages.
About two hours later, deputies found Garcia at his home on Boardwalk Circle. The report says that Garcia was sitting in the driver’s seat of the Honda when the DPD officer who responded initially arrived. Garcia had the keys and a open container, the report says. It adds that Garcia had been fighting with deputies prior to the police officer’s arrival.
Garcia was arrested and charged with hit and run/leaving the scene of an accident and DUI. He was booked into the Coffee County Jail and later released.
