Irineo Sanchez, age 91, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mr. Sanchez was born on June 28, 1934, son to the late Jose Sanchez and the late Eugenia Torres.
His survivors include: three daughters, Maria (Jesus) Trevino of Douglas, GA, Marcela Acosta of Douglas, GA, and Agustina De La Rosa of Brownsville, TX; two stepsons, Roberto Almazan of Mexico and Hilario (Janet) Almazan of Louisiana; twenty-one grandchildren: Cynthia (Jose’) Trevino, Maritza Trevino, Jesus (Edith) Trevino, Rudy (Selena) Trevino, Jesus (Destiny) Acosta Jr., Mayra (Jay) Acosta, Nayeli De La Rosa, Elias Acosta, Leticia Gonzalez (Ricardo), Hector Acosta, Rolando (Mina) Acosta, Rodney De La Rosa, Sergio De La Rosa, Jose G. Almazan, Roberto Almazan, Corina Almazan, Jesus Almazan, Estrella Almazan, Juan Almazan, Carolina Mai, and Rosa Almazan along with several great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: father, Jose Sanchez; mother, Eugenia Torrez; and two grandchildren, Belinda Perez and Osvaldo Almazan.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday Night, December 16th, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 17th, 2025, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Douglas, GA at 11:00 AM, with Father Saimel Perdomo officiating. Interment will follow at Satilla Memorial Gardens.
