Mrs. Christine Davis, age 71, of Axson, Georgia, passed away at her residence on Sunday afternoon, January 11, 2026.
Christine was born August 22, 1954, in Douglas, Georgia, to the late William Bryant Davis and the late Lois Tapley Davis. She was married the love of her life, the late Otis Lee “John” Davis, for 41 years prior to his passing in 2022. She was employed at Specialized Structures in Willacoochee, Georgia, as well as Design Space and First String in Douglas, Georgia. Christine loved all things outdoors. She enjoyed fishing, a good yard sale, working in her vegetable garden, and any day spent at the beach was a good day. Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 9 siblings.
Christine was a devoted mother to her 5 sons: Richard Batten and wife Marcia of Toccoa, Georgia, Raymond Batten and wife Kristy of Gainesville, Georgia, Farest Davis and wife Michelle, of Chesapeake, Virginia, John Carl Davis and wife Denise of Capron, Virginia, and Jeffery Davis of Axson, Georgia. Her greatest treasures were her 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind 2 sisters, Josephine Jackson of Axson, Georgia and Jean Anderson and husband Allen of Snipesville, Georgia, along with a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many extended family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held to honor Christine on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Cliff Kirkland officiating. Interment will follow in the Douglas City Cemetery. Christine’s family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home, Inc.
Active pallbearers for Christine’s service will include Devin Davis, Kevin Davis, J.R. Davis, Kevin Zanders, Dustin Carver, and Aaron Wilson.
