On December 20, 2025, at around 6:30 p.m., a 23-year-old woman allegedly ran her mother’s car into another vehicle intentionally, causing damage and pushing the vehicle 165 feet during the incident.
According to a report from the Douglas Police Department, officers responded to a Bryan Street Circle address in reference to a vehicle crash. When the officer arrived, he spoke to Shasmine Nariyah Sirmans, 23, of Douglas, who stated that the father of her child had pulled a gun on her. The report says that after the incident occurred, “she blacked out, entered her mother’s black 2017 Chevrolet Suburban, followed a gray 2013 Chrysler 300 and struck the rear end of the Chrysler.”
The driver of the Chrysler 300 stated that she had gone to the Bryan Street Circle location to pick up the child’s father because he had been arguing with the mother. In the report, she stated that Sirmans had repeatedly approached the father in an aggressive manner. He had a gun, the report says, but the driver of the Chrysler told him not to pull it out.
They got into the 300 and left. The report says that Sirmans followed in the Suburban and rear-ended the car, pushing it 165 feet in the process. The officer found a gun in the car but it was in a bag and he couldn’t determine whether or not it had been taken out during the incident.
Sirmans was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault. She was transported to the Coffee County Jail and has since been released.
