On June 25, 2026, deputies from the sheriff’s office responded to a domestic call at an Ambrose Road trailer park at 12:17 a.m. A female victim had knocked on the complainant’s door and asked for help because her boyfriend, identified as Trevor Martin Howell, 26, of Ambrose, had attacked her. An incident report says that the victim was bleeding profusely and Howell had fled.
Deputies arrived and eventually found Howell crawling out from under another mobile home. Using Howell’s phone, the deputies made contact with the victim, who said she was leaving the state. The victim came back to the location and spoke with deputies.
The report says that Howell began to assault the victim while she was taking a shower, hitting her in the mouth and jaw. After she got out of the shower, she says the incident escalated and the two ended up in the kitchen, where they threw beer cans at each other. The victim then went outside and Howell followed her, the report says. He allegedly grabbed her by the throat, slammed her, and dragged her back inside. She managed to escape and go to a neighbor’s home.
The report says that the victim had numerous pictures of her injuries from unreported incidents in the past.
Officers arrested Howell and transported him to the Coffee County Jail. At the jail, the report says that Howell admitted to grabbing her and taking her phone to prevent her from calling for help. He also admitted to grabbing her while she was outside and bringing her back inside.
Howell was charged with battery – family violence (first offense), kidnapping, obstruction, and obstruction or hindering persons making an emergency telephone call. He remains in the Coffee County Jail.
