A 33-year-old who was riding a bicycle near a traffic stop was stopped for not having lights on his bike. He was subsequently found to have suspected methamphetamine on his person and, as a result, was arrested and jailed.
A report from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office states that officers were conducting a traffic stop around 8 p.m. on March 23, 2026 at the intersection of Ramblewood and Cottonwood roads. While officers were talking with the motorcyclist, they saw a man, identified Rickey Liman Lott, 33, of Douglas, riding a bicycle without lights.
The report says that one of the officers stopped Lott and asked for consent to search him. According to the report, Lott said he had contraband and pulled out a red cloth bag. Inside the bag were a pipe and suspected methamphetamine. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Officers took warrants on Lott for possession of methamphetamine. He was booked into the Coffee County Jail on April 22, 2026, and remains incarcerated.
