Getting ready to go to work be a little hectic sometimes. It’s even crazier if you get stabbed by another person while you’re trying to leave. That’s exactly what happened around 5:40 a.m. on April 16, 2026, at a Sears Street address, according to an incident report from the Douglas Police Department.
The report says that on April 16, an officer responded to a stabbing at the aforementioned location. The report states that the victim, a male, was trying to leave for work. A woman, identified as Makisha Lanette Watson, 34, of Douglas, was at the house. The victim told Watson she needed to leave so he could go to work. According to the report, she refused. He asked her to leave again and then she grabbed a box cutter and “poked” him in the shoulder, the report says.
The victim wanted to press charges but refused to go with EMS for treatment.
After the incident, Watson left the house. Two other officers located her behind the freshman campus. When questioned, Watson denied stabbing the victim but she did have a box cutter.
Watson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. She was transported to the Coffee County Jail and later released.
