On May 25, 2026, Douglas police officers arrested a 39-year-old from Forsyth after he allegedly stabbed someone in the chest at a South Manilla Avenue address.
A report describing the incident states that when the first officer arrived, the suspect, Darius Qua’Shon Ellerton, 39, of Forsyth, had left the scene. The report says that Ellerton was at the residence but a female on the premises had asked him to leave. She added that she would call the police if he didn’t.
The female called another individual to ask Ellerton to leave. The report says that when the other person asked Ellerton to leave before he got into trouble (Ellerton hadn’t been out of jail long), Ellerton stabbed the male in the chest with a pocket knife.
Officers found Ellerton at Daughtry and West Magnolia. At the scene, the report says that Ellerton kept repeating, “I didn’t do it. I didn’t do it.” Ellerton didn’t have a knife on him but the officers found a pocket knife nearby.
Ellerton was arrested and charged with aggravated battery. He was booked into the Coffee County Jail. He is still incarcerated.
