A 75-year-old man who allegedly threatened to cut a man’s throat on December 22, 2025, was booked into the Coffee County Jail over a month later on aggravated assault charges.
According to a report from the sheriff’s office, at 1 p.m. on December 22, a deputy responded to a Beechwood Drive address in reference to an assault. When he arrived, he spoke to the complainant who said that he had backed into the driveway of 399 and 403 Beechwood Drive in order to unload some equipment. An individual identified as Lynn Wood Davis, 75, of Douglas, drove down the drive and got out yelling at the complainant, the report says.
The complainant videoed the interaction which, the report says, shows Davis yelling and threatening the complainant. At one point, Davis reached into his pocket and pulled out a knife. After opening the blade, the report says, Wood tells the complainant that he will “cut your G-D throat” and attempted to grab him. The complainant moved to the passenger’s seat of the vehicle and said he was leaving. Davis then put his knife back into his pocket and left.
On January 25, 2026, Davis was taken into custody and booked into the Coffee County Jail on aggravated assault charges. He has since been released.
