Chamber and Bee Gee Travel to host passport clinic & travel meeting

Love wine, cheese, and traveling around the world?  Come to the Chamber of Commerce’s Wine, Cheese & Travel Event on Monday, August 24, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Atrium Event Center in downtown Douglas.

Anyone interested in international travel needs a passport! A passport clinic will also be held in the Atrium Event Center from 5:30 to 6:30pm. Anyone needing a passport can fill out paperwork with Clerk of Court Angie Spell and get passport photos made by PostNet for $10 per person. Usual passport fees apply.

Anyone interested in learning more about Chamber travel opportunities is welcome to attend. The meeting is free to the public.

Three upcoming international trips are planned for 2015 and 2016. The first is a November 2015 trip to Tuscany, the second is a May 2016 trip to London and Paris, and the third trip is a November 2016 trip to Israel.

The Tuscany trip is November 5 – 14, 2015. The ten-day trip includes 13 meals (eight breakfasts and five dinners). The tour begins in Rome and travels to Assisi, Siena, San Gimignano, Florence, the famous spa resort town of Montecatini Terme. A trip to a Chianti vineyard where wine and olive oil are made are also included. There are also optional additional excursions to Pisa and Lucca as well as an authentic Italian cooking class.

The first trip for 2016 is planned May 11 – 18 to London and Paris. The eight-day trip includes nine meals (six breakfasts and three dinners). Tour highlights include Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, a pub dinner, a London theatre performance, a trip on the Eurostar train, an Eiffel Tower dinner, a Seine River cruise, the Arc de Triomphe and Paradis Latin Cabaret.

The Israel: A Biblical Journey Trip is planned for November 7 – 15, 2016.  The nine-day trip includes 15 meals (seven breakfasts, one lunch, seven dinners).  Highlights include Jaffa, Caesarea, Nazareth, Cana, Tiberias, Sea of Galilee, Mount of Beatitudes, Capernaum, Golan Heights, Caesarea Philippi, Mount Tabor, Tel Megiddo, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Mount of Olives, Mount Zion, Ein Karem, Via Dolorosa, Western Wall, and the Garden Tomb.

Round-trip airfare from Jacksonville International Airport is included in the cost of the trips.
