During a recent visit with monthly guest reader, Ms. Julie Macomber, Director of Children’s Programing at Satilla Regional Library, the students in Mrs. Paige Williams’ and Ms. Beverly Barbaree’s Pre-K classes at Eastside Elementary were treated to a new book. Each child was given a special dinosaur book donated by Georgia Public Library Services and Georgia Public Broadcasting organizations. Ms. Julie read the book to the students in their classroom and then sang special dinosaur songs extended the book theme.

The children were delighted when Ms. Julie presented each of them with a copy of the book she read to take home to add to their home library.  A special “thank you” goes to the organizations noted above  that donated funds to make it possible for every child to receive a new special book. Thank you to Ms. Julie for coming and reading the story to all of us and sharing new finger plays and songs with the students. The students look forward each month having Ms. Julie as a guest reader in their classrooms to share many of the new books available at Satilla Regional Library.  All parents/guardians are encouraged to go to Satilla Regional Library and establish a library card for their child. The library offers a huge selection of books, games, and DVDs for enriching student’s educational growth, all at no cost.
