The yearly bowling party for the youth of the Hahira Sheriff’s Youth Home was held Sunday, December 20, at the Rockin’ Roll Bowlin’ center in Douglas.

Twenty-six youth and six adults from the home enjoyed the event, which was sponsored by the Douglas Kiwanis Club and the Citizens Christian Academy (CCA) Key Club. Sheriff and Mrs. Doyle Wooten and Robert and Sara Tift also donated toward the event. Sixteen personnel from the Kiwanis Club, CCA Key Club, and the Boys and Girls Club of Douglas helped with the event.

Funds raised by the CCA Key Club in the amount of $535 were presented to the youth home, as well as forty-eight $10 gift cards which were donated by the Kiwanis Club and CCA Key Club members as Christmas gifts. Free bowling and food was provided to all participants, along with desert prepared by Kiwanis Club members.  Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, and the youth and adults from the home went out of their way to show their appreciation for the event.
