Coffee County Sheriff’s officials reported Sunday the following recent drug-related arrests:

On January 15, at approximately 3:10 p.m., detectives from the Douglas – Coffee Drug Unit, the Coffee Co. Sheriff’s Office ,and K-9 deputies conducted a search at 64 White Oak Street, located in the Oak Park community. Upon the search, officers located methamphetamine and marijuana, along with a set of scales. Jimmy Lee Hester Jr. (31) was arrested and will be charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Patricia Hester (54) was also charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Also on Jan. 16, deputies were dispatched to the Coffee Regional Medical Center emergency room in reference to an unresponsive person that was brought in by EMS. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the charge nurse, who stated that the male subject was in the E.R. and had in his pocket a small Advil bottle that contained a white crystal-like substance. The responding officer contacted DCDU and, during the investigation, the substance was field tested and showed a positive result for methamphetamine. As a result, Kaleb Leaston Owens (24) of Broxton was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Just prior to 2 a.m. on the 16th, a Douglas Police officer conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, powder cocaine was located, and DCDU detectives were called to investigate. As a result of the investigation, Milton Charles Gainey, Jr. (29) of Douglas was arrested and charged with possession of powder cocaine.

“I want to thank all my officers and the officers from the Douglas Police Department who work so hard to get the drugs and those committing crime off the street,” said Sheriff Doyle Wooten. “This is a great example of what working together can accomplish. Thank each of you for the hard work and dedication to rid our streets and community of drugs and crime.”
