A Douglas man faces charges of drug distribution after authorities allegedly discovered a quantity of methamphetamine during a routine traffic stop Wednesday.
Officials with the Douglas –Coffee Drug Unit assisted Georgia State Troopers, who initiated a traffic stop on Carl Leslie Chaney in the area of Ramblewood Rd. for failure to maintain lane and driving without a seatbelt.
Following a brief investigation, Chaney was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana and was subsequently charged wtih with intent to distribute methamphetamine (12.4 grams) and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He was also issued two traffic citations.
Coffee County Sheriff Wooten stated, “I would like to thank all the officers that continue to work towards ridding our community of these illegal drugs, as well as the citizens that are reporting suspicious activities and concerns so that we can target areas that need to be addressed.”
