James Calvin Spivey, age 71, of Douglas, GA passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Eastside Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Spivey was born on November 22, 1944, in Douglas, GA to Zannty Eloise Thurman Spivey and the late Allen Spivey.

Survivors include: his wife, Sue Spivey of Douglas, GA; mother, Zannty Spivey of Douglas, GA; son, Chad (Christie Leigh) Spivey of Douglas, GA; daughter, Marci (Gabe) Hoffman of Snellville, GA; two grandsons, Josiah Hoffman of Snellville, GA and J.J. Hoffman of Snellville, GA; three granddaughters, Karis Hoffman of Snellville, GA, Felicity Hoffman of Snellville, GA and Taylor Burch of Douglas, GA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Allen Spivey and a brother, Jerry Allen Spivey.

The family will receive friends Friday, April 22, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Sand Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Herbert Box officiating. Interment will follow at Sand Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
