The fall 2016 semester is quickly approaching, and South Georgia State College (SGSC) is gearing up for an exciting academic year. Classes begin Monday, August 15, 2016, at the Douglas and Waycross Campuses. The Entry Program in Valdosta will also begin classes on August 15, 2016, and the Entry Program in Americus will begin classes on August 17, 2016. Time is quickly running out; now is the time to complete the application process if it hasn’t already been done.

Students who have already registered for classes will need to make payment arrangements before the deadline of Thursday, August 4 at 5:00 pm for all locations. Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.ed.gov to determine if they qualify for financial aid. The Nelnet payment plan is available for everyone with easy online enrollment and flexible payment options. To learn more about the Nelnet program, visit mycollegepaymentplan.com/sgsc. Students are encouraged to make payment arrangements as soon as possible to avoid losing their scheduled classes.

If a student is attending SGSC but has not yet registered for classes, he/she may sign up for Student Orientation Advisement and Registration (SOAR) to get a schedule in place for fall semester. Payment will be expected at the time of registration due to being past the August 4 payment deadline. The on-site registration and SOAR dates for Douglas and Waycross will be August 10. The date for the Entry Program at Valdosta is August 4 and at Americus on August 11.

Students who are interested in attending SGSC this fall but have not applied for admission should call today! Contact the Office of Admissions at (912) 260-4206 or email admissions @ sgsc.edu. For more information about South Georgia State College, please visit www.sgsc.edu.
