Gary Joey “Bones” Powell, age 57, of Douglas, GA passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at Coffee Regional Medical Center suddenly following an auto accident. Mr. Powell was born on May 10, 1959, in Soperton, GA to Neal Powell and Audrey Meeks Powell.
Survivors include: his wife, Rosa M. Powell of Douglas, GA; four daughters, Ann Powell of Perry, GA, April Nicole (Josh) Fowler of Eastman, GA, Ashley Powell of East Dublin, GA, and Amy (Steve) Peterson of Douglas, GA; two sons, Ray (Stacy) Music of Douglas, GA and Kevin (Shonaree) Music of Dallas, GA; parents, Neal and Audrey Meeks Powell of Glenwood, GA; brother, Jerry (Sylvia) Powell of Glenwood, GA; three sisters, Joyce Herndon of Milledgeville, GA, Martha Crawford of Dublin, GA, and Shirley Brown of Vidalia, GA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Powell.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m at Sims Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Church with Rev. Matthew McEachern officiating. Interment will follow at Chatterton Church Cemetery.
