Three people were arrested recently following a three-month investigation into the illegal sale of prescription drugs.

Coffee County sheriff’s officials reported Thursday that local agents, accompanied by the Georgia Bureau of Narcotics, executed a search warrant at a residence on Tony Davis Rd. in West Green. The operation was conducted following a lengthy investigation that included seveal  controlled purchases of prescription narcotics by the Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit, authorities stated.

Anita Corbitt, age 53 of Westgreen, was charged with the sale of a controlled substance, along with Richard Corbitt (26), who was arrested for manufacturing marijuana. Another individual at the residence, 27-year-old Victoria Merritt, also faces one charge of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
