For over 40 years, the Okefenokee Heritage Center has been a staple of the South Georgia region and a sanctuary for local artists.  Between annual competitions and exhibits showcasing the achievements of people in the South Georgia area, the OHC has helped promote the arts for the community and preserve our history.  The Heritage Center’s focus on local history and art through rotating exhibits has made their collection invaluable.

In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the Okefenokee Heritage Center is going gold and opening up their vault to raise money for our local children’s cancer charity. By purchasing historical artwork, patrons can help their community preserve our heritage, own a classic piece of history, and reach out to help families in need.  Fifty percent of all proceeds raised will be donated to Mattie’s Mission in honor of this celebration.

The art sale will take place from September 13, 2016 until September 27, 2016 at the Okefenokee Heritage Center located at 1460 N. Augusta Avenue in Waycross. Art can be purchased Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Call 912-285-4260 or email okeheritage @ gmail.com if you have any questions or would like a display placed at your local place of business.
