As Veterans’ Day arrives in the month of November, Coffee County Pre-K students are learning the important role veterans play in our community and country.

As a special treat, Kentice Brockington, who is serving in the United States Army station overseas, read the book Bark George to his daughter’s (Kamille Brockington) class via CD on the Smart Board located in the classroom.

The students enjoyed seeing Mr. Brockington in his uniform while reading the story to the class. He shared with the students he enjoyed hearing his daughter Kamille talk about events in the class and the many skills they are learning. He encouraged the students to do their best and shared with them the importance of reading every day.

What a treat to have a “Veteran Daddy” read to Ms. Barbaree’s Class at Eastside Elementary. We appreciate him taking the time out of his busy schedule to read to his daughter’s class….even if it is thousands of miles away.  We thank Veteran Brockington and all veterans for their service to our country.
