Sheriff’s office reports multiple drug arrests

The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent drug-related arrests Friday:

Jan. 24, 2017 – The Douglas-Coffee H.E.A.T. Unit stopped a vehicle for speeding on Ga. Hwy. 32 East at Chatterton Ch. Rd. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 27-year-old Secondria Smith of Cordele, Ga., was found to be in possession of more than an ounce of marijuana, $4706 in cash, and a set of digital scales.  The driver, 20-year-old Jala Green, also from Cordele, was arrested for driving without a license and speeding.

Jan. 26, 2017 – During a road check sponsored by the Southeast Regional Traffic Enforcement Network at Ga. Hwy. 135 and Harvey Vickers Rd., 33-year-old Jeffery Voorhees of Douglas was arrested and charged with possession of Suboxone, a Schedule III Controlled Substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.  A passenger, Timothy Lott (32) of Douglas, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Jan. 28, 2017 – The Douglas-Coffee H.E.A.T. Unit conducted a traffic stop on a 2007 Toyota Camry for a seatbelt violation. Following a subsequent investigation, the driver of the vehicle, 33-year-old  Joshua Dyson of Green Cove Springs, Fla., was arrested for possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of Alprazolam (a Schedule IV controlled substance), and two counts of possession of a Schedule III controlled substance (two different types of Buprenorphine).

Feb. 3, 2017 – A road check was conducted by the Douglas-Coffee H.E.A.T. Unit, Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Douglas Police Department at McDonald Ave. and East Railroad St. Following an investigation involving a 2010Cadillac , Sandrell Hobbs was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.  The case was turned over to the Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit.
