Don Brooks, owner of Brooks Auto Parts and a former Douglas city commissioner, will be inducted into the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame on April 29 at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Warner Robins.

The other inductees are Sgt. Mike J. Ferros, and Richard (Dick) Fortenberry. The three new members bring the total number of military and civilian inductees in the Hall of Fame to 112 since the Hall started in 1989.

Brooks has generated national attention for his involvement in the recovery of old World War II aircraft, including expeditions to Greenland to recover a P-38 and a B-17. Brooks restored the B-17 to its original condition. The B-17, dubbed the Liberty Belle, is one of the most recognizable warbirds in the country.

The induction banquet will begin with a 6 p.m. reception followed by the dinner and program at 7 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at http://www.gaaviationhalloffame.com/Order-Tickets.45.0.html. Seats are $85 per person of which $35 is tax deductible. Attire is business suit or black tie optional. For reservations and further information contact Nicole Bissette at the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame at 478-328-0704 or e-mail nbissette@museumofaviation.org.
