Tuesday, May 16, the Alma Police Department’s Criminal Investigative Division arrested Lashirley White, 25 of Alma, for two counts of theft by taking. On April 28, 2017, and May 1, White, a contract worker for the Bacon County School System, allegedly entered a classroom and took $1,570, all of which were raised for extracurricular activities. To date, Alma police has recovered $537.42, $410 of which was discovered hidden in a trash receptacle in a girls’ restroom.
