Mr. Lonnie Buford Smith, age 69, of Douglas, GA passed away Friday afternoon, September 8, 2017 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a short illness. Mr. Smith, a native of Coffee County, was born September 16, 1947 to the late Dan Smith, Sr. and the late Nancy Troupe Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, John Patton; siblings: Otis Smith, Tommy Smith, J. D. Smith, Corralee Phillips, Geraldine Harper, Billy Gene Smith, Betty Nell Lott and Dan Smith, Jr.
Mr. Smith was employed for 42 1/2 years as a salesman with the Douglas Coca Cola Bottling Company. He was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was a member of Douglas Gospel Assembly.

Survivors include: his wife, Annette Rogers Smith of Douglas, GA; children: Michelle (Jake) Mizell, Lonnie Carroll (Casey) Smith, Tracey (Ricky) Lomax, Ted David Clarke and Becky (Victor) Vickers all of Douglas, GA; 19 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The memorial service was held Sunday, September 10, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Douglas Gospel Assembly where Rev. Allen Peacock officiated. Inurnment will follow at a later date.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
