Mrs. Mary Davis Fussell, age 91 of Ambrose, GA passed away late Monday evening, December 25, 2017 at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Fussell was born August 3, 1926 to the late Roy Davis, Sr. and the late Vida Lee Ray Fussell. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband, Edsel Fussell; sister, Janet Bounds; and brothers: Billy Davis, Kenneth Davis, Rev. Roy Davis, Jr., Stanley “Bozo” Davis and Freddie Davis, Sr.

Mrs. Davis, a native of Coffee County, was a homemaker. She and her late husband, Edsel Fussell, operated Bridgetown Grocery for 20 years. She was a faithful member of Mt. Union Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include: daughter\, Marcia Fussell of Ambrose, GA; sons: Jimmy Royce Fussell, Larry Fussell and Terry Fussell and his wife Libby all of Ambrose, GA; sister, Judy Rickerson and her husband Vernon of Douglas, GA; brothers: Donnie Davis and his wife Jean Carol and Wayne Davis all of Douglas, GA; grandchildren: Erica Batten of Willacoochee, GA, April Larie Davis, Kevin Royce Fussell, Brandon Tygart Fussell and Aaron Coy Fussell all of Ambrose, GA, Alyssa Michelle Fussell of Marietta, GA; great-grandchildren: Dalton Whitley, Gracie Whitley and Ethan Davis all of Ambrose, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be Thursday morning, December 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Union Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Gardner and Elder Philip Smith officiating. The interment will follow in Mt. Union Cemetery.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
