Wiregrass Georgia Technical College will be holding an American Heart Association Certification for HealthCare Professionals in the community or workplace on Feb. 17 from 8 a.m.- Noon on the Coffee Campus of Wiregrass. The Basic Life Support (BLS) course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of AED.  BLS for Healthcare Providers teaches skills using the American Heart Associations’ proven Practice-While-Watching technique, which allows instructors to observe students, provide feedback and guide students’ acquisition of skills.  This four-hour training session includes Adult, Child and Infant CPR and AED. A two-year certification card is awarded at completion. The cost is $70.

For more information and/or to register, please contact Nancy Mitchell at 229-468-2074 or nancy.mitchell@wiregrass.edu. The deadline to register is February 13.  Registration is also available online at eventbrite.com under the title AHA, Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.  For more information about Wiregrass and other continuing education courses visit www.wiregrass.edu.
