Alma PD announce last week’s arrests, charges ranging from criminal trespass to battery

Monday, April 23, the Alma Police Department arrested Jason Jerrideau, 33 of Alma, for criminal trespass at FNB South. Jerrideau had previously been told by bank officials and law enforcement to not be upon the premises.

Tuesday, April 24, APD’s Crime Suppression Unit arrested Ciara Brown, 21 of Alma, for simple battery, criminal trespass, and interference with a 911 call; these charges stemmed from an incident which occurred on April 19. Brown was also charged for party to a crime after detectives learned Brown assisted Terry Lamar Simms with the attempted robbery of Dairy Queen on April 16. Brown was an employee of Dairy Queen at the time of the attempted robbery.

Also, on Tuesday, April 24, APD’s Crime Suppression Unit stopped a vehicle on W. 12th St. for an equipment violation. William Edwin Baddiger, III, 20 of Nicholls, was arrested for no insurance and canceled registration.

Tuesday evening, April 24, APD’s Crime Suppression Unit arrested Patrick Robinson, 31 of Alma, for criminal trespass. Robinson had been previously told by both Flash Foods management and KFC management to not return to their properties. Robinson was arrested last week for theft of services after APD received a complaint of Robinson staying at the Sunset Inn without paying.

Wednesday, April 25, APD arrested Aaliyah McMillan, 19 of Hazlehurst, and Keyana Davis, 21 of Nicholls, for criminal trespass after the two had previously been issued trespass notices to not return to Flash Foods on S. Pierce St. @ E. 16th St.

Also, on Wednesday, April 25, APD arrested Jeffery Scott Thompson, 43 of Alma, for theft by deception and (4) counts of theft by receiving stolen property. Thompson’s arrest stemmed from a January 2018 case when Thompson pawned items stolen from Lamar Johnson Construction Company in Waycross.

Later, on Wednesday, April 25, APD arrested Davie Martin Martinez, 29 of Alma, for battery and cruelty to children-3rd degree.

Wednesday afternoon, April 25, APD’s Crime Suppression Unit stopped a vehicle on GA HWY 32 W regarding a complaint of shots fired. APD arrested Edgar Ivan Morales, 25 Weslaco, Texas, for possession of marijuana.

Wednesday evening, April 25, APD stopped a golf cart on S. Ware St. Belinda Robinson, 46 of Alma, was arrested for DUI and an open container violation.

Thursday, April 26, APD arrested Lawton Anthony Arnold, 25 of Alma, on a bench warrant. Arnold was subsequently wanted by the Bacon County Sheriff’s Office for unrelated reasons. APD also arrested George Daniel Cunningham, 30 of Waycross, for obstruction of law enforcement officers. Cunningham was also wanted by BCSO. Cunningham fled when APD attempted to apprehend him but was quickly captured.

Saturday, April 28, APD arrested Thelma Dora Meeks, 65 of Alma, for battery-family violence and (2) counts of cruelty to children-3rd degree. Meeks’ arrest followed an argument between Meeks and a family member.

On Saturday, April 28, APD arrested LaShirley White, 28 of Alma, for theft by taking. White’s arrest stemmed from an internal investigation by Hardee’s. Hardee’s determined White, a former employee, had taken over $3800.00 from the cash registers over the course of two months. White was arrested in May of 2017 for stealing over $1,500.00 from the Bacon County Middle School cheerleaders; White worked for a custodial service prior to the May 2017 arrest.

Sunday morning, April 29, APD stopped a vehicle on E. 12th St. for failure to dim headlights. Carmelo Ramirez Reyes, 33 of Jesup, was arrested for DUI, expired driver’s license, and failure to dim headlights.
