Ruth F. Stuart, age 91, of Elkhart, IN passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Vista Park following an extended illness. Mrs. Stuart was born on August 27, 1926, in Pearson, GA the daughter to the late Jackson Seaborn Lastinger and Anna Gertrude Wall Lastinger.
She was the Elkhart Township Assessor, a career politician for over twenty years in Elkhart, IN and was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, Elkhart, IN.
Mrs. Stuart was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Carlyle Stuart.
Survivors include: nephews: Sammy Lastinger of Douglas, GA and Danny Lastinger of Perry, FL; nieces: Jackie Wilson of Douglas, GA, Jan Lastinger of Douglas, GA, Tommie Dukes of Athens, GA and Trudy Carlisle of Douglas, GA; special cousin, Carlie Lastinger.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 27, 2018, at Sims Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services and interment will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018, at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart, IN with Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart, IN in charge of arrangements.
