Wiregrass Georgia Technical College and Ace Electric, Inc. have partnered together once again.  At the college’s advisory committee meeting, Ace Electric, Inc. company founders Tom and Bobby Stalvey presented the college with a check for $25,000.  Both company founders are Valdosta Technical Institute alumni.

The donation will support the newly created Commercial Electrical Construction Technology classroom.  In addition to their financial contribution to Wiregrass, Ace Electric is committing to offering summer internships, work-based learning, job shadowing and apprenticeship program opportunities to high school students interested in pursuing a career in the commercial electrical construction field.  This past summer, Irwin High School senior Lauren Freeman, interned with Ace Electric, Inc.  Her education and skills learned while Mechatronics at Irwin through Wiregrass’ Dual Enrollment program, helped her decided her future career belongs in Engineering.

“The funds donated by Ace Electric will support the newly created program and establish the Ace Electric, Inc. Electrical Construction Classroom,” said Crissy Staley, executive director of fundraising.  “The Wiregrass Foundation is appreciative of this partnership from Ace Electric and the Stalvey family.  We are excited to offer this new opportunity in the electrical construction field to our students.”
