Doris Marie Hutchinson, age 86, of Douglas, passed away on Monday May 6, 2019 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Hutchinson was born on February 3, 1933 in Greenville, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Heber Jesse Hudson, Sr. and Sadie Marie Potter Hudson.

Mrs. Hutchinson was a homemaker and a very loving mother and an active member of First Baptist Church, Douglas.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, James Albert Hudson, Heber Jesse Hudson, Jr., William Earl Hudson and Harvey A. Hudson.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-seven years, Glyn A. Hutchinson of Douglas, GA; two daughters, Bren Goodale of Douglas and Pam Bennett and husband Greg of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, Lacy Marie Clements of Douglas, Quinn C. Bennett of Atlanta and Tracy Brianne Goodale of Atlanta; one great grandchild, Hudson Glyn Clements of Douglas; brother, John N. Hudson of Fayetteville, N.C.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday May 12, 2019 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Don Hattaway and Rev. Shep Johnson officiating. Interment will be Monday May 13, 2019 at 2:30 pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32218. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 pm to 9 pm at Sims Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Men of ACTS, First Baptist Church 124 N. Gaskin Ave., Douglas, GA 31533

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
