Lavane “Wesley” Pridgen

Lavane “Wesley” Pridgen, age 75, of Pridgen, passed away on Sunday May 19, 2019 at his home, surrounded by family. He was born on May 13, 1944 in Broxton, to the late Joshua Francis Pridgen and Clara Kathleen Austin Pridgen.

Mr. Pridgen was a self-employed welder and a member at New Bethel Baptist Church.

His survivors include: Two daughters, Kathy Wilkerson and husband Stephen of Axson and Mekeisha Lott and husband Tracy of Broxton: two sons, Donnie Pridgen and wife Cindy of Douglas and Tim Pridgen of Douglas: two sisters, Judy Chaney of Pridgen and Vicky Pridgen of Douglas: twelve grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Pridgen was preceded in death by a brother, Jerome Pridgen; and a granddaughter, Jodi Pridgen.

The funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 2:00 PM, at Saving Grace Ministries with Rev. Cliff Kirkland and Rev. Rob Merritt officiating. The interment will follow at Pridgen Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
