Thomas Charles “Punkin” Kight, age 71, of Broxton, passed away on Saturday July 7, 2019 at Community Hospice, Vidalia. Mr. Kight was born on August 18, 1947 in Coffee County, the son of the late Luther Kight and Christine Deen Kight.

He was a local farmer, a member of the Cambusters Club and a member of Mt. Pleasant “Byrd” Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry L. Kight and Ray Fisher Kight.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Wooten Kight of Broxton; three daughters, Tonia Christine Ramirez (husband Jesse) of Dublin, Cynthia Gladys Thomas of Oklahoma and Holly Catherine Kight ( Fiancé Hunter Sommers) of Charleston, S.C.; son, Thomas Charles “Charlie” Kight II (fiancé Tonya Chaney) of Snipesville; brother, Roger Wayne Kight of Snipesville; three grandchildren, Nevada Christine Sawyer of Monroe, Jessica Ramirez of Dublin and Jared Ramirez of Dublin; three great grandchildren, Jonathan McDougal, Sawyer Green and Jackson Green, all of Monroe; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 9, 2019 at Mt. Pleasant “Byrd” Baptist Church with Rev. Vann McCall and Rev. Gregory Pope officiating. Mr. Kight will lay-in-state Tuesday from 1 pm until 2 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 pm until 9 pm at Sims Funeral Home.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
