Police, fire and other agencies host National Night Out Against Crime

The City of Douglas Police Department, Douglas Fire Department, and other local public safety agencies held the third annual National Night Out Against Crime event on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at South Georgia State College.  Attendees were treated to back to school supplies, free hot dogs and Coca-Cola products, pool time, dunking booth fun, and were able to see inside public safety vehicles including the GSP helicopter.

“We had a fantastic time with the community,” says Police Chief Shane Edmisten.  “We even had a great time being dunked in the dunking booth! The positive interaction was evident on the smiles of the parents and children at the event.”

Thanks to all the agencies and volunteers that made this event a success – Douglas Police Department, Douglas Fire Department, Coffee County Sheriff’s Department, Coffee Regional Medical Center EMS, CSRA Probation Services, Department of Juvenile Justice, Douglas Mayor’s Youth Council, Douglas-Coffee County Teen Court, Douglas-Coffee County Parks and Recreation, Georgia State Patrol, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and South Georgia State College.  A very special thank you to community sponsors: 8 Finger Jack Stew & Que, Flowers Baking Company, Deen Distributing, 93.5 The Vibe/106.7 The Buck, Williams Distribution, ESG Operations, and McRae Coca-Cola.
