The Coffee County School System has hired Jeff Hammond, former head coach at Spalding County High School and offensive coordinator at Colquitt County High School. Hammond left Colquitt after the 2018 season and has served one year at Spalding County. Last season, Spalding went 1-9.

Hammond served as Colquitt’s offensive coordinator two different times while former head coach Rush Propst was there. His last year, the Packers made the semifinals of the state playoffs and averaged 43 points per game. Over the course of his career, Hammond’s teams have made several deep playoff runs, including two appearances in the finals in Georgia and Alabama. He left Colquitt before the Packers won their two state championships.

Considered a passing game expert, Hammond will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience running high-powered offenses to the Trojans’ sidelines. He replaces former offensive coordinator Kevious Johnson, whom Turner County recently hired as the Rebels’ head football coach.
