The Douglas Police Department is committed to forming a respectful relationship with the citizens of Douglas and Coffee County community. Continuing with this commitment, the P.olice A.nd C.itizens T.ogether (P.A.C.T.) program has been formed to help build connections
among Douglas officers and the neighborhoods they patrol.
“The P.A.C.T. program will be impactful in neighborhoods,” says Douglas Police Chief Shane Edmisten. “We hope, by forming this new program, citizens in neighborhoods and Douglas officers will build a relationship of trust and respect.”
Through P.A.C.T., citizens will have access to an officer specifically assigned to their neighborhood with whom they can address quality of life issues and other concerns with. Citizens should receive letters from the Douglas Police Department explaining the program and an invitation to attend a P.A.C.T. meeting in their neighborhood.
The P.A.C.T. officer liaison will hold three meetings annually with community members and will be available to neighborhood residents.
