Mrs. Ruby Louise Snipes Hersey, 92 of Bacon County, passed away on June 9, 2020 at Bacon County Hospital with her loved ones by her side. She is the daughter of Late Bennie Forest Snipes and Beatrice Rowell Snipes.
Mrs. Hersey is survived by her son; Alfred Hersey (Barbara); daughters Judy Peoples (Mike) and Margie Meyer (Chuck); brothers Fred Allen Snipes (Kay), James Quitman Snipes and Jerry Snipes (Ann); daughters-in-law Joyce Hersey and Sylvia Hersey; 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Other than her parents Mrs. Hersey is preceded in death by her husband, Edd Rufus Hersey; sons Rufus Edward Hersey and Lewis Wayne Hersey; brothers Carl Snipes, Billy Snipes, Charlie Snipes and Grady Snipes; Sister Kathlene Clinger; and two grandchildren, Kenny Allen Hersey and Ki Ree Hersey.
Funeral services will take place Friday June 12, 2020 at Chatterton Grove Holiness Baptist Church. Reverend Gene Chaney, Aaron Fuller and Brother Dody Hersey will officiate. Burial will be held at Chatterton Grove Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery.
