Walker A. Barnes, 16, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020. Walker was born October 2, 2003 to Christopher Barnes and Lori Thomason Barnes.

Walker was a kind-hearted young man who would lend encouragement to others. Whether on the baseball field or at school, he always enjoyed the camaraderie with friends. He was a rising eleventh grader at Newnan High School where he played on the baseball team. Walker and his family are members of Southcrest Church. Recently, Walker participated in the Chrysalis weekend retreat where his faith in God was only strengthened.

The funeral is Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Southcrest Church, 365 International Park, Newnan with Rev. T.J. Boyd and Pastor Luke Ayers officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan. The visitation is Saturday evening between 5-8 at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St, Newnan. Survivors include parents, Chris and Lori Barnes; brothers, Brady Barnes, Cam Barnes; grandparents, Gail (Curtis) Summerlin, Tim Thomason, Linda (Tommy) Brooks, Terry Barnes; aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
