James Lawrence “Larry” McQueen, 73

Mr. James Lawrence “Larry” McQueen, age 73 of Douglas, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020 at his residence following a short illness. Mr. McQueen was born April 9, 1947 to the late Oscar Lee McQueen and the late Libby Blondell Hardin McQueen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy Murray and siblings Mary Eudora Wright, Latrelle McPeters, Bobby McQueen and Bill McQueen.

Mr. McQueen, a native of Homerville, GA, was previously employed with Douglas Electric. Larry was also a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include:

His wife: Donnis Lott McQueen of Douglas, GA

Children: Andy McQueen and wife Petra of Douglas, GA
Blondale Thomas and husband Clay of Douglas, GA
James McQueen and wife Tonya of Wray, GA
William Joyce and wife Michelle of Nicholls, GA

Sisters: Sarah Franklin and husband Ed of Chipley, FL
Joyce Odom and husband Jerry of Chipley, FL

Grandchildren: Barron Thomas, Brylee Thomas, Marlena McQueen, Brittany
McQueen, Tyler McQueen and wife Kayla all of Douglas, GA
Hali Denney and husband Mac of Wray, GA
Lilly Joyce, Ellie Joyce and Emma Joyce all of Nicholls,
GA

Several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends

The funeral service will be Monday afternoon, September 7, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Marshall Adcock and Elder Ray Fussell officiating.

Memorialization will be by cremation.

Please note, due to COVID-19, attendees are asked to observe six foot social distancing at the service and visitation. Please wear your mask for safety precautions.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Ricketson Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
