Kevin Tatum, County Extension Coordinator

The Coffee County Extension office will be closed from noon on Thursday, December 24, through Sunday, January 3. We will reopen on Monday, January 4, with regular business hours of Monday through Friday, 8 am to 12 pm, closed for lunch, and reopening daily from 1 pm to 5 pm. If you have an urgent need for the county agent, please go to our website at http://coffee4h.org to find my contact information. I will assist you with getting in touch with the agricultural agent covering our county during our agent vacancy.

We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a joyous new year.

4-H MEMBERS HELP SALVATION ARMY

Junior and Senior 4-H’ers were asked to take a couple of hours to help the Salvation Army by ringing the bell for the Annual Red Kettle Drive at the local Walmart store. On Saturday, December 19, several 4-H members bared the cold weather to help with collecting donations for our local Salvation Army store.

Participants included Jake Grantham, Muskan Minhas, Brianna Moreno, Alexandra Rivero, Ishika Sadarangani, Shubh Sadarangani, Florence Shealy, Caroline Spivey, Bubba Vaughan, Miley Vaughan, and Janilla Warren. Adult participants included Liz Batten, Dusti Vaughan, and Charnita Williams. We also want to thank First Congregational Christian Church for helping cover some of the time slots on Saturday as well. Their volunteers were Maggie Bush, Barbara Day, and Rod Purvis.

If you would like to learn how you can become more involved with the Coffee County 4-H program, please contact the Coffee County Extension office at (912) 384-1402 or visit our website at http://coffee4h.org.
